CIS

The Co-operative Insurance Services (CIS) is the only co-operative insurance business in the UK and provides a full range of life, investments and insurance products, including traditional personal, life and non-life insurances, personal pensions and unit trusts, ISAs and pre-paid funeral plans.

CIS's role in high profile campaigns for socially responsible investment has helped focus attention on issues such as corporate governance and wider social environmental issues. CIS was also the first UK investor to put its entire voting record on its website, which gives details of how the Society voted at each UK AGM. In April 2002 Co-operative Financial Services (CFS) was created to bring The Co-operative Bank and CIS under common leadership.

Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotlan

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) is the world's first professional body of accountants, receiving its Royal Charter in 1854.

ICAS is the fastest growing accountancy body in the UK in terms of worldwide student numbers. It is the only UK professional accountancy body to both educate and examine all of its students. The CA qualification is known around the world for consistency and high standards and ICAS enjoys a widely recognised reputation for providing the 'gold standard' in accountancy education.

Promoting high quality and effective governance is a key aim of the work that ICAS carries out. Our commitment to support the Foundation recognises the strength and focus of the Foundation's work in the area of corporate governance.
