Dr John Mellor is a former senior international banker over a 20 year career, mainly with Citibank (now Citigroup) as a Vice President and head of major corporate finance divisions, and then as Executive Director in charge of corporate finance at Unibank plc.

Since 1992 John has specialised in the corporate governance field combining several roles. In 1996, with support from NatWest bank and Exeter University (where he was Visiting Senior Fellow) he established and directed one of the first professional development programmes for non-executive directors (the Non Executive Director's Forum) which ran successfully for five years accommodating over 250 directors.

John has been an advisor to companies, central government and parliamentary groups, and a major contributor to various government reviews. His board experience includes that of director on both company and public sector boards. He has also been a senior member of the Quoted Companies Alliance corporate governance committee.

In his current role John combines chairmanship of the Foundation (which includes the chairmanship of its advisory board of senior businessmen) with leading and conducting governance research relevant to business and finance, advising, lecturing and writing. He is the author of several articles for professional publications.

John obtained his B.Sc from Exeter University, his doctorate from Bristol and, following a Short Service Commission in the Royal Navy, his MBA from Cranfield Business School.

Jos Moule is a partner in the company department of Osborne Clarke. He advises on all aspects of company law and has specialist expertise in advising charitable and other not-for-profit companies on corporate governance issues. He is a trustee of two charities - The Bristol Old Vic Trust Ltd and The Wildscreen Trust - and a director of South West Screen, a not-for-profit company.

Brian Woods FCA (Finance & Administration Director) was a Partner with Grant Thornton, the international firm of Chartered Accountants, for over 25 years. He now works as a non-executive director for a number of unquoted companies operating in many different fields, continuing a long-standing interest in corporate governance and board dynamics.

Michelle Edkins is Governance Services Partner, Governance for Owners. She was previously the Director of Institutional Relations, Hermes Pensions Management, and before that head of its Corporate Governance team.

Jonathan Hayward , CEO and a founder partner of Independent Audit Ltd, has been instrumental in building the firm into a respected board consultancy, helping clients add more value to their business by their governance approach. He is also a non-executive director of a foreign owned bank, chairing the audit committee, and was previously a Partner with PwC.

Chris Hodge is Head of the Corporate Governance Unit at the Financial Reporting Council, the independent regulator responsible for promoting confidence in corporate reporting and governance, including through the Combined Code. Chris has previously worked at the Department of Trade & Industry and Cabinet Office.

Ian Jones is Head of Responsible Investment at Co-operative Insurance Society, where he was instrumental in introducing a policy of embedding analysis and engagement on corporate governance, and social, ethical and environmental issues into the mainstream investment process.

Professor J P (Ian) Percy CBE retired in 2001 both as Chairman of the Accounts Commission for Scotland and as Chairman of Audit Scotland, set up by the Scottish Parliament. He was previously with Grant Thornton, leaving in 1995 as Senior Partner Scotland, and has acted as a Department of Trade Inspector and as an Expert Witness in a number of significant cases, including Enron. He continues to practice as an Expert Consultant in auditing and corporate governance, and has a number of chairmanships and non-executive directorships.

John Pierce , having qualified as a Chartered Accountant and spent a number of years in manufacturing industry, has, since 1999, headed the Quoted Companies Alliance (QCA) - representing the interests of over 300 members, drawn from the smaller quoted company sector, to Government, regulators, stock markets, etc. He is also currently Chairman of the Union of Issuers Quoted in Europe (UNIQUE), an alliance of representative groups from six EU countries speaking for 3,500 companies.
